In 2005, Jacob Wallenberg was elected chairman of Investor AB by the AGM. Börje Ekholm was appointed President and CEO.
In June 2006, the spin-out of Husqvarna from Electrolux was completed and the company is now a core investment. During the second quarter of 2006, Investor and EQT jointly acquired and delisted Gambro, which is now part of our Operating Investments business area.
With this change, the new Operating Investments business area increased its share of total assets to 5 percent at year-end 2006. Unlisted assets, as a percentage of the total portfolio, also rose during 2006, amounting to about 16 percent at year-end. Increasing the percentage of unlisted assets allows Investor to create proprietary returns for the shareholders.
During the third quarter of 2006, LogicaCMG (U.K) made a public offer to acquire the total shares outstanding in WM-data. Investor accepted the offer. MAN (Germany) made a public bid för the total shares in Scania. (The offer was rejected by Investor during the autumn of 2006.)
