What we look for
IGC's Information Technology Team invests in private and public companies with experienced managers that have a completed product or service offering, require additional capital for growth and meet the following criteria:
Sector focus
Our industry sector focus is on software and technology-enabled services, semiconductors, telecom/datacom equipment (both wired and wireless) and internet/new media services.
Investment size
We target USD 7-25 million in a company over the life of our investment, but our investments have ranged from USD 3 million to USD 50 million.
Stages of development
We seek to invest in companies that have significant customer or product development traction and which are significantly beyond the "concept" stage. The stage of development of potential investments will typically vary by IT sector as shown below:
Software and IT Services
Completed product or service offering in use in the marketplace by numerous, referenceable customers. Generally, this indicates revenue run-rates of USD 5 million or higher. Profitability or a clearly defined path to profitability. Typically a fully funded business plan.
Semiconductors
Completed product with multiple design wins from credible partners. General release of product within one to three quarters of funding.
Tele/Datacom Equipment
Completed product in live development at credible customer accounts. Ideally the corresponding annualized revenue run-rates will be USD 5 million or higher at the time of investment.
Internet Media Services
Completed product or service offering in use in the marketplace by numerous, referenceable customers. Generally, this indicates revenue run rates of $5 million or higher. Profitability or a clearly defined path to profitability. Typically a
fully funded business plan.
