Game Plan for Students
Forty-four students from universities in Sweden recently gathered at Investor headquarters in Stockholm to play the Investor Team Challenge game.
The first Investor Team Challenge, held in 2007, was highly appreciated by the student community, and due to the continuing strong interest in the game, an overwhelming number of applications were submitted for this year’s competition.
Investor Team Challenge is modeled on a proprietary game designed for Investor employees in 2006. Like the employee version, the game basically tests the skills of four-man teams to run Investor’s different businesses. Each team functions like an Investor Management Group for the day.
The teams are challenged with tough management and investment decisions and the one creating the highest value – measured at Investor in terms of net asset value – wins. The student version of the game takes around five hours to play, giving the uninitiated a good introduction to Investor and how the company operates.
In addition, Investor Team Challenge is also a popular event internally at Investor. A large number of Investor employees are involved in Investor Team Challenge from different departments in the company, acting as coaches to the students.

Gaining better insight into Investor’s business
Investor Team Challenge helps builds relations with the student community. Students are an important target group for Investor since tomorrow’s graduates will be the leaders, employees, shareholders, investors, analysts and stakeholders of the future.
Investor Team Challenge therefore has a dual purpose: it gives students better insight into our business and strategy, creating a better understanding of what it is like to manage a company like ours – and it gives Investor an opportunity for a dialogue with students to discuss our company and their views of the future.
Investor Team Challenge is arranged in collaboration with Talency, a Novare Group company specializing in the recruitment of talented young individuals, building networks with the student community and helping companies communicate with the next generation of decision-makers. Novare is an associated company that is part of Investor’s Operating Investments business area.
Sponsoring students
Investor also conducts a number of other activities for students of all sizes and age. Examples are Zone Moderna, Venture Cup, Young Enterprise Sweden and Students in Free Enterprise. Read more
