Investor featured in the Financial Times
In the December 4 Fund Management supplement of the Financial Times, Investor is featured alongside Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway and Hutchison Whampoa as “diversified, profitable but overlooked” investment companies.
The FT writes that many investment professionals in the fund world bypass holding companies” which should instead be considered as attractive vehicles for solid returns because of their unique investment structure, their focus on corporate management and long-term commitments, and their stringent due diligence processes for selecting and maintaining significant stakes in core investments. This structure, writes the FT, helps enable the delivery of “long-term tax-efficient corporate performance” and the freedom to pursue alternative investments.
The FT also notes that Investor stock has soared 37.8 percent in the past year and, as an active shareholder, has played a significant role in the recovery of holdings such as ABB and Ericsson. Investor further boosted these companies, for example, by participating in their rights issues and buying additional shares. After their recovery, they repaid Investor many times over for this support.
