Skill Shift Initiative “Beredskapslyftet” (in Swedish) is the mobilization of available human resources to support Swedish healthcare providers tackle the corona virus outbreak.

A first example of “Beredskapslyftet” is the Fast Track training that Sophiahemmet University and Novare have created for laid-off SAS cabin crew, made possible by funding from one of Investor's largest owner, the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg foundation. This program quickly generated a lot of interest among other companies and laid-off workforce in other fields.

- There are some incredibly competent people in this country who will be able to offer relief to our healthcare services immediately after completing the training so that doctors and nurses can to an even greater extent devote themselves to caring for patients. We have been contacted by a number of companies that are also interested in the training and I am happy that we can expand it and add additional groups thanks to funding from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, says Johanna Adami, President, Sophiahemmet University.
